Doppelganger is a parasite that took on the appearance of Sonic. However, when things went south, he started to care little about his facade. He would go on to kill all of Sonic's friends and foes, while doing a bit of self-reflecting along the way.

- Doppelganger originally started as an EXE clone for a project (as explained later).
- In addition to the previous factoid, Doppelganger is now simultaneously inspired by EXE, Hog & Scorched, and DX.
- Doppelganger is friends with every EXE on the sites main page. They're part of his "alliance" mentioned in the epilogue of his story.
- Doppelganger is actually 16. Like, not just because he's Sonic. The actual entity that is "Doppelganger" is 16. Quite a life to deal with as a 16 year old.
- Doppelganger is aroace. He feels compassion, but not necessarily love. I mean, he values his friends a whole lot to the point of "loving them" I guess. He just doesn't feel romantic love.
- sonic is out there . somewhere .
- Contrary to Sonic, Doppelganger actually prefers hot dogs over chili dogs.
- Doppelganger's friends call him "Doppel" for short, and you should too!
- Doppelganger calls him and his clones his "Doppel Gang".
- Doppelganger actually has a Twitter account, as "@doppelgangsta_"! He doesn't use Twitter very often though. He says it's unreliable and a waste of his time.

This is back when I sucked at drawing Sonic lol. He was literally just an EXE/Faker clone and also very FNF-centric with little to no lore going for him. To be fair though, he was meant to just be an EXE/Faker replacement for something I was making. I never actually knew he would actually get this far lol.

This was back when I announced Doppelganger on Twitter. He still didnt really have lore at all, but I decided to show him off to the public finally.

A short while after the last one, with an updated reference sheet. At this point, he finally had a story. The thing is: it sucked. It was more "game centric" than actually "universe centric". Also, he fucking kills Xenophanes or steals some of his code?? look idk like i said his story sucked at the time.

This wasn't his first appearance in Friday Night Funkin', but I dont want to clutter this section too much, so I'm keeping stuff to the point.
The FNF centric era of this guy was certainly an interesting one, that's for sure.

This was some weird concept for his form deteriorating over time or with damage. It looks oddly familiar, but I can't put my finger on what it is.

This is when I decided to make him less EXE inspired, and more DX inspired. This wasn't exactly his reference sheet yet, just an outline. I would go to draw Doppelganger with a dark blue outline for a total of maybe 2 weeks.
