Maniacal Mario was once living a normal life. However, once trapped within stone walls by the evil King Bowser, he had run out of options, and had to destroy the barriers with his skull. Now, with a new perspective on life, he saw everything as a game. And if everything was a game, he had to win.
Maniacal Mario's Story
Maniacal Mario's Reference Sheet
Coming Soon!
- Maniacal Mario was originally named "Mental Mario" before I came to the conclusion that the name "Mental Mario" was kinda dumb.
- His origins were actually based on an old Miiverse post I made, with Mario trapped in a stone box, with arrows pointing to him. The caption was simply, "Mario".
- Continuing the last piece of trivia, my good friend Leader decided to give him some lore. He went with the idea of Mario smashing his skull to break the blocks, and he would then go insane afterwards. I would then go on to expand on his lore a bit.
- I don't exactly recall a specific date, but Maniacal Mario dates back to May of 2022.
- In case it wasn't absurdly obvious, his "Infrared Form" is based on Super Mario World's "Infra Bug", which can cause damage to the cartridge and even the console. Pretty freaky stuff.
- Maniacal Mario's design is based on Super Mario World's small Mario specifically. He is always small Mario unless he's in his Infrared Form, which, is still arguably kind of small.
- His friends call him "Manario", a combination of Maniacal and Mario. You are also allowed to call him this.
